For decades, the unveiling of Krieghoff’s Gun of the Year has represented the highest expression of fine gunmaking for collectors and connoisseurs worldwide. Each edition emerges from the close collaboration of master gunsmiths, engravers, and stockmakers. The engraving is executed by leading master engravers, ranging from the finest bulino work to sculpted high-relief engraving.
The 2026 Gun of the Year reflects defining moments in the history of the United States. Built on the Krieghoff K-80/S platform, its extended sideplates provide a generous canvas for the engraved narrative.
On the right side of the receiver, we see General George Washington crossing the Delaware River, a defining moment symbolizing determination and the birth of a nation. The scene captures the courage and resolve that shaped the founding of the United States.
On the left side, the Statue of Liberty, the bald eagle, and Mount Rushmore are united in a powerful composition representing freedom, strength, and continuity, enduring symbols of the American spirit.
On the underside of the receiver, a scene from the Revolutionary era unfolds. The United States Capitol appears alongside references to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, honoring the foundations of American democracy.
On the top latch, the Liberty Bell stands as a timeless emblem of independence, accompanied by the banner “250 Years – United States of America.”
Created on the basis of the Krieghoff K-80/S and crafted in Ulm, this unique firearm commemorates the Semiquincentennial — already awarded, andtruly one of a kind.
