Lewis Class Prize Breakdown
Instead of dividing the entries into registered classifications (typically AA, A, B & C), the Classes are divided depending on the amount of entries into equal classes and prize fund paid out into these equal classes.
If there is £4,000 in the Lewis Class Prize Fund, with a predetermined 4 Lewis Classes, then each Lewis Class will have a share of £1,000 divided among the places.
To understand the Lewis Class Prize Breakdown, see this video below.
The Lewis Class System is based around dividing the total number of entries into a equal split and distributing the prize money based on this split, so there are no predetermined classes for prizes, it will be determined once the last score has been handed in.
The Options
The "Options" was introduced at the Krieghoff 200 in 2022. This is an additional prize fund, which you can choose to enter if you wish. The concept is basically entering in to a prize fund and backing yourself to shoot either a 25 Straight or a 50 Straight.
How It Works:
- From the 100 Targets shot each day, there are 4
x 25 Straights and 3 x 50 Straights available to shoot.
- You can choose whether you would like to enter the Options in the 25's or the 50's and pay into the prize pot.
- The Options prices are set nearer the date by Bywell Shooting Ground and can be entered on the day.
- For Example if the Options Price for 25's is £2.50, there are 4 x 25's, so to enter you would pay £10.00.
- Then if you shoot a 25 Straight on any of the 4 lines you shoot, you collect a share of the prize. So if 50 people enter into the 25's Options, there would be 50 x £2.50 =
£125.00 per line available. But of course, there might be 10 people who shoot a 25 Straight on their 1st line, so would each receive £12.50, but if there are only 5 people shoot a 25 Straight on their 4th line, they would receive £25.00.
- The Options prices are usually slightly more for the 50's, but there is greater risk and reward as a 50 Straight is obviously harder to shoot. There are 3 x 50 Straights to be shot: 25 on Line 1 + 25 on Line 2
/ 25 on Line 2+ 25 on Line 3 / 25 on Line 3 + 25 on Line 4.
- For Example if the Options Price for 50's is £5.00, there are 3 x 50's, so to enter you would pay £15.00.
- Then if you shoot a 50 Straight on any of the 3 possible options, you collect a share of the prize. So if 50 people enter into the 50's Options, there would be 50 x £5.00 =
£250.00 per 50 Straight available. This time, the odds of a high number shooting a 50 Straight is lower, so less people will share the £250.00 prize pot. If you're lucky enough to be the one and only shooter to shoot a 50 Straight on the last 50 for instance, you'd take the whole pot!
