The Krieghoff - 2025
The Krieghoff for 2025 will be regular DTL. Format is a two day competition, Saturday and Sunday.
Prize money paid out on combined scores over the two days. £40 from every entry will go into the prize fund. Maximum entry is 240 and once the shoot is full we will run a waiting list in case there are cancellations. There is no possibility of opening more traps so once we have 240 entries the shoot is full.
In addition, there will be £2,000 added to the prize fund and an additional £1,000
generously given by the Henry family. This brings the total prize fund to over
£12,000, all of which will be paid out.
The High Gun from Saturday and the High Gun from Sunday will shoot off at the end
of Sunday’s event. The winner will receive £2,000 and the runner-up £1,000,
sponsored by the Henry Family. The two winners come out of the prize fund so the
remaining £9,600 will be split into classes.
We are not running CPSA classes and
instead will use the Lewis system where the total entry is split into four classes
based on their scores. The complete explanation of how this works can be found on
our website - Lewis Class System. The beauty of this system is that a shooter having a bad day in say A
class may find him or herself leading the next class down. It is also impossible to
manipulate the scores as no one knows where the breaks will be until the shoot is
finished.
There will be no categories as Ladies, Veterans, Juniors etc have exactly the same
chance of winning as anyone else.
Assuming entries are full at 240 We will pay TEN PLACES in every Lewis Class - made up as
follows:
1st: £600
2nd: £500
3rd: £400
4th: £300
5th: £200
6th: £100
7th: £80
8th: £70
9th: £60
10th: £50
There will also be options on the day. Options are when you back yourself to shoot
25 straight or 50 straight.
For example, if 100 shooters back themselves to shoot a 50 straight and only half
do it then the other half have doubled their money. 50 straight can be first, middle
or last 50. It is great fun and sometimes can result in a big pay out. The worse the
weather the better the odds that someone will win big. See Details of the Prize Fund
We are limiting the entries this year to 240. So secure your place quickly to avoid disappointment!
After a furlough year for the Krieghoff Championship, due to the European DTL, Home International DTL and World DTL being held at Bywell Shooting Ground in July 2024, we are back for 2025. Working on a similar format as in 2023, the English & British Double Rise Championships will also be held during the weekend, making it once again a packed weekend of shooting.
